Philosophy/Functionality
The AC Schnitzer charge air cooler lowers the high temperature of the intake air resulting from the charging, thus ensuring better filling of the combustion chamber. Since cooler air contains more oxygen than hot air at the same volume, the AC Schnitzer high-performance charge air cooler supplies more oxygen to the combustion chamber. This results in more stable engine performance and higher torque.
An 85% larger air intake area as well as over 90% more charge air volume – the AC Schnitzer high-performance charge air cooler offers noticeable advantages over the standard charge air cooler due to its size and its stepped design. Excellent cooling properties are achieved with the high-performance network. This innovative development is a guarantee for a lasting and homogeneous power development of the engine. Even at high outside temperatures, the engine power remains noticeably more stable.
In addition, the lower temperatures during the combustion process provide further advantages: the engine has a lower tendency to knock and the thermal load on the pistons is also reduced. This increases the service life of the motor.
Material/Assembly
The end boxes of the AC Schnitzer high-performance intercooler are made of cast aluminium. Using flow analyses, they were then optimized once again in CAD-based simulations.

Installation is carried out by replacing the standard charge air cooler and is therefore easy to carry out, as the original charge air hoses can still be used.
